Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, self-starting helper/welding assistant to join our team. You will assist with mobile welding repairs, fabrication, and fieldwork, often working independently. A clean driving record and the ability to operate company vehicles safely is required.
Schedule:
Hours vary depending on workload
Some weekday work past 6 PM required
Winter hours: 8 AM – 6 PM
Summer hours: 8 AM – varies depending on job and demand
Occasional Saturday overtime during spring and summer
Experience / Skills Required:
Pipe fitting and welding (stick & MIG; uphill welding a plus)
Aluminum welding
Stainless welding (helpful but not required)
Equipment repair and fabrication
Irrigation equipment fabrication (pump & pivot tie-ins)
Operating a backhoe and forklift
Strong knowledge of welding techniques and equipment
Use of hand tools and power tools effectively
Basic math for measurements and calculations
Responsibilities:
Assist with mobile welding repairs and fabrication; 2 welding rigs available
Load basic tools on company truck for mobile jobs
Assist with farm equipment welding/repair (cracked frames, loader lift arms, mounts, etc.)
Remove and replace bearings, shafts, and related components
Maintain safety standards (safety glasses, grinder guards, etc.)
Be punctual and dependable
Operate forklift safely
Tools & Equipment:
Most personal tools required: pipe wrap, wrenches (up to 2”), socket set, impact, welding clamps, levels, squares, etc.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Pass drug/alcohol test
Pass background check
Clean driving record for insurability
Bring current job references
Work boots/shoes
