Highway Preservation Tech – Roadway Maintenance

Spring Maintenance Crew:

    Use compressed air and heat to remove moisture and debris from pavement cracks
    Fill cracks with hot-applied asphalt sealant
    Walk up to 10 miles per day in traffic and Right-of-Way areas
    Assist with moving vehicles when needed
    Set up and tear down traffic control barriers
    Perform other duties as assigned

Work will transition to Summer Maintenance Program

Chip Seal Crew:

    Rake and shovel materials to ensure proper coverage at edges, corners, and around sewer access points
    Set up and tear down traffic control
    Assist with roller operation when needed
    Help move vehicles to keep work progressing
    Troubleshoot and repair minor equipment issues when possible
    Walk up to 10 miles per day in moving traffic and Right-of-Way areas
    Work safely around construction equipment such as dump trucks and chip spreaders
    Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

    Valid driver’s license
    Be drug-free
    Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
    Able to safely lift and move up to 50 lbs.
    Ability to work well in a team environment
    Follow processes and procedures
    Adhere to all safety policies and regulations
    Operate vehicles and equipment in a safe and professional manner
    Work 10-hour shifts outdoors in all weather conditions
