Grounds Maintenance Specialist – Parks & Waterways  

    East Boise/Barber Valley work location
    $17.50 p/h to start- first season

    Preference to candidates interested in working late afternoon into closing shifts

Duties:

    Perform general grounds maintenance, including mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, pruning, and other landscaping tasks.
    Conduct basic maintenance and janitorial duties for public facilities and grounds, including trash removal, sweeping, mopping, window and restroom cleaning.
    Use a variety of hand and power tools and equipment.
    Inspect equipment for damage after use and maintain inventory records.
    Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
    Follow all workplace and job-specific safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment.
    Perform other assigned tasks related to Parks and Waterways functions as needed

Requirements:

    Valid Driver’s License
    Have had a valid drivers license for at least 2 years
    Be Drug-Free
    Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in facility maintenance and repair.
    Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices.
    Understanding of workplace safety procedures.
    Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
    Strong customer service and professional interpersonal skills.
    Ability to maintain effective working relationships and interact with discretion and tact.
    Ability to operate equipment and motor vehicles (including light trucks) safely.
    Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and maintain sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes.
    Flexibility to work a non-standard schedule, including weekends and holidays.
    Able to work varying schedules between 7 am- 10 pm during peak season
