Personnel Plus, Inc. is now hiring a Dispatcher in Meridian, Idaho

Our client is seeking a dependable Transit Dispatcher to coordinate vehicles, support drivers, and help maintain reliable transportation services. This is a full-time, temp-to-hire opportunity in Meridian offering paid, on-the-job training, immediate hire, and excellent company benefits upon rollover.

Pay and schedule: $19/hour to start. Rotating shifts are 7:00 AM–4:00 PM and 10:00 AM–7:00 PM, switching approximately every two months. Candidates must be available for occasional 6:00 AM openings, varying service hours, and mandatory Saturday meetings as needed.

What you’ll do:

  • Schedule and dispatch vehicles, routes, and driver assignments

  • Monitor daily service, route performance, and system operations

  • Respond to delays, cancellations, missed trips, no-shows, and service disruptions

  • Communicate with customers, drivers, leadership, and field personnel

  • Direct drivers through radio, dispatch software, and mobile devices

  • Coordinate responses to vehicle accidents, breakdowns, and emergencies

  • Monitor driver sign-in, sign-out, trip distribution, and route coverage

  • Answer questions and address customer concerns regarding routes and schedules

  • Prepare daily work assignments and provide direction to drivers

  • Document complaints, service issues, and route-improvement suggestions

  • Enter information into software systems and maintain required reports

  • Track assigned equipment, inventory, fuel cards, and vault drops

  • Attend required team meetings and provide dispatch updates

  • Professionally represent the agency to customers and the public

  • Drive non-CDL transit vehicles when coverage is needed

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • Valid Idaho driver’s license

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through

  • Ability to make quick and accurate scheduling and routing decisions

  • Positive, team-oriented attitude in stressful or urgent situations

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office

  • Ability to type at least 35 words per minute and perform basic math

  • Ability to read printed and electronic maps

  • Knowledge of Ada and Canyon County roads and landmarks

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English

  • Ability to operate a two-way radio system or learn through training

  • Willingness to work varying hours between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM

  • Ability to drive non-CDL transit vehicles

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods

  • Availability for mandatory Saturday meetings as needed

  • Two years of transit-related dispatch experience is strongly preferred but not required

  • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
