CNC Lathe Programmer/Machinist – Boise

Our client, a reputable Treasure Valley manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Machinist. Pay and schedule: $20–$30/hour, depending on experience. Day shift, Monday–Friday.

What you’ll do:

  • Set up, program, and operate 2500SY CNC lathes with sub-spindle, Y-axis, and live tooling

  • Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using GibbsCAM

  • Operate multiple machines while maintaining production quality and efficiency

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and sketches

  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments

  • Ensure completed parts meet blueprint specifications and quality standards

  • Meet production schedules and efficiency goals

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members

  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and attendance expectations

  • Assist with other machining and manufacturing duties as assigned

What you’ll need:

  • Five or more years of CNC programming experience is preferred

  • Job-shop manufacturing experience

  • Experience setting up and operating 2500SY CNC machines is preferred

  • Multi-axis CNC programming experience is preferred

  • GibbsCAM experience is preferred

  • PC-DMIS experience is a plus

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, fixturing, and machining techniques

  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions

  • Ability to inspect precision parts using measuring instruments and gauges

  • Basic math skills and strong mechanical aptitude

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities

  • Ability to adapt to changing production demands

  • Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace
