Animal Shelter Helper  

Personnel Plus Inc. is now hiring a Shelter Helper to provide daily care for shelter animals while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role includes hands-on animal care and facility maintenance.

Pay: $8.00/hour

Schedule:
Mondays and Fridays, Saturdays from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (16 hours/week)
Additional hours as needed for coverage and special events

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform daily cleaning of animal areas, including kennels, runs, dishes, and bedding
Feed animals and provide specialized diets as required
Monitor animal health and behavior; report concerns promptly
Socialize and groom animals to support well-being and adoptability
Maintain cleanliness of public areas (laundry, dishes, floors, windows, etc.)
Provide excellent customer service and assist with adoption processes
Promote humane and compassionate treatment of all animals
Collaborate with team members and assist with additional duties, including events
Qualifications
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push up to 100 lbs regularly
Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong observation skills and attention to animal health and behavior
Friendly, professional demeanor with the public and coworkers
Work Environment
Fast-paced, hands-on setting with frequent interruptions
Combination of indoor and outdoor work
Exposure to noise, cleaning chemicals, and varying weather conditions
Emotionally rewarding but may involve difficult situations, including caring for sick or injured animals
